Lancashire’s youth programme entered the 2022 season with a strong recent record, including a National Intercounty Cup semi-final appearance in 2019 and junior players progressing to England representation.
2019 national success
The Lancashire Youth squad reached the semi-finals of the 2019 National Intercounty Cup, adding another significant result to the county’s junior record.
Players from the programme also progressed to England level. Danyal Hussain was highlighted in the original 2022 recruitment notice after becoming a 2019 World Champion at Under-18 level.

The 2022 youth recruitment drive
The original article invited boys and girls who met the 2022 age and residency requirements to join Lancashire practice sessions ahead of Region 2 Intercounty competition. That recruitment window has now closed, so the old phone numbers and application instructions have been removed.
Building a long-term Lancashire pathway
The 2022 notice forms part of a much longer county effort to develop junior players through local practice, Intercounty competition and national opportunities. Earlier milestones include the 2013 Region 2-leading youth team, Michael Chippendale’s national Under-16 title and the Lancashire U18 trio earning England places in 2019.
