December 11, 2018 in Committee, Intercounty, Interleague, Mens Intercounty, Mens Interleague by LCPA Webmaster

A tribute from Geoff Hadgett, LCPA Chairperson.

Bully was a man who was second to nobody in his passion and commitment when representing his beloved County. He has been a valued player for over 25 years and also sat on the committee during that time.

He always gave his all in everything he did for County. He always attended trials and encouraged as many players as he could to attend especially from his own area of Lancaster. He was a very proud Lancastrian.

Please be aware that the Champion of Champions entry is now online here

This is definitely one of the hardest events any team or player can aspire to win. In order to enter you must first be your local league current champion(s) in one of three disciplines (Team, Individual, Ladies Individual). As if that wasn’t hard enough you must then take on other local league players who have achieved the same feat in their local league.

£200 Donation received by East Lancs Hospice in memory of Mark Ashton

October 17, 2017 in Committee, Intercounty, Interleague, Ladies Interleague, Mens Intercounty, Mens Interleague, Seniors Intercounty by Ian Ingham

East Lancs Hospice DonationPlease find right (click to enlarge) a copy of the letter from Lyn Stevenson thanking Lancashire County Pool Association for their donation of £200 in memory of Mark Ashton.

Mark was a special friend. One of own who played League, Interleague and County and we’d be really surprised if there is anyone here who didn’t know him or hasn’t met him at some time.

To his credit Mark stayed very positive throughout, the same as he played his pool & we know he wouldn’t have had it any other way. Now Mark liked the odd wind up & in his last few weeks, he would often say that at the first sign of any conflict or really boring conversation with visitors, he’d say “it’s okay, I’ll just pull a sicky, turn over & let them get on with it”. Typical Mark; always liked a laugh & a joke.
