Matt Brierley won North West Event 2 of the 2014 one-day mini-series, defeating Jack Mann 6-3 in the final to take the £500 first prize. Rochdale players dominated the closing stages, accounting for three of the four semi-finalists.
Brierley beat Kevin Holland in his semi-final, while Mann defeated Lancashire County A player Gaz Royds. Brierley’s run had started with an emphatic 6-1 win over England captain Lee Kendal, and his closest match came in the last 16 when he edged Matt Evans 6-5.
