The 2017 European Eight-Ball Championships brought more than 500 players to the Imperial Hotel in Blackpool from 12–18 February 2017. With 16 countries, 63 teams, seven team divisions and more than £16,000 in prize money, the event placed Lancashire at the centre of European World Rules pool for the week.
A major international event in Lancashire
The championship programme included eight days of live-streamed competition. The Men's Individual Championship alone attracted a field of 256 players, while team competition covered Men's A, B and C sections, Ladies, Seniors, Under-23s and Juniors.
The event was also notable for participation from African guest nations, extending the international reach of the European championship week in Blackpool.

Blackpool's place in eight-ball history
Blackpool has repeatedly hosted major English and international eight-ball events. The 2017 Europeans are therefore an important part of Lancashire's wider pool history, alongside the 2019 WEPF World Eightball Championships in Blackpool.
