The 2014 tour kicks off at the home of World Pool, the Imperial Hotel in Blackpool, on the 7th February, with 180 of the Country’s finest amateurs doing battle for the first tour title of the year.
Some familiar faces that have been missing from the tour scene will join all of the main contenders from 2013. Former World Champion, Phil Harrison, joins the tour along with Derek Murphy, Rob Chilton and 2012 Premier League Champion, Ian Ali.
The open draw format remains very popular and can produce some very tough first round matches such as Guiseppe D’Imperio v Temjumin Dixon and Shane Balding v John Bowkett.
The Premier League is probably the strongest line up so far; Lee Kendall would be considered many peoples favourite for the title having missed out by just one frame in 2013. However, the field has two current World Champions, Tom Cousins and Michael Hope, 2012 World Champion, John Roe and World Masters Champions, Ben Flack and Jack Pople, also expect young guns, Frank Costello and Harjeet Singh to make an impact.
The Challenge event looks like it could be dominated by some of the new players already mentioned, however, with an open draw and the shorter format it gives a chance to anyone in the field to take the spoils.
There are still three spaces available for Tour 1 so if you are interested contact the Tournament office using the “Join the UK Tour” link above.
For Tour 2 there is a change of venue, we will now be using the Birmingham Metropole which is one the best venues that we will visit.
