2014 TOUR 1 CHALLENGE
The first UK Pool Tour Challenge event of 2014 has been won by Nick Gillett. Nick, who hails from Kent and was a newcomer to the tour, has shown he has the skills and bottle to beat the very best in the game, having survived three successive deciding frames against top players including the 2012 World Champion John Roe. His opponent in the final, Chris Gill, had been on unstoppable form dropping only 1 frame per match on average against a series of top players. But it was to be the man from Kent’s day, running out a 6-4 winner and picking up the coveted trophy and a cheque for £1000.
