As reported on Friday, Michael Chippendale represented Lancashire Boys & Girls clubs in the Ambitions National finals this weekend in Coventry in the Under 16 Boys category. Well Micheal took the title following a nervy final against a strong Welsh opponent.
Everybody at Lancashire County Pool, especially within the Lancashire youth setup, would like to congratulate Michael on his achievement and hope this will help to encourage Michael in his future pool experiences. Lancashire Youth Manager, Diane Stocks, said “Well Done Michael, I am delighted for you and very proud of you too! ”

The tournament was at held at Rileys Pool and Snooker Centre in Coventry, with 8 finalists in the under 16 group gathered from across the UK.
The tournament started in a round-robin format, with a best of 3 match against all players. Michael played well winning 5 out of the 7 matches which meant he was in the top 4 going through to the Semi-Finals.
Michael got drawn against a West Midlands county player in his semi-final, which he won 2-1 to put him in final.
With the Final being best of 5, Michael broke and dished against a strong Welsh-based opponent.Michael also took the 2nd frame. His opponent then hit back winning the next 2 frames and taking it to the final frame.
The final frame continued the excellent standard of the game, with both players giving little away causing the match to go down to the black ball. But Michael held his concentration and came through to win.
Michael was well focused throughout the day, as play was at an excellent standard.
