UK POOL TOUR 3 - HILTON METROPOLE BIRMINGHAM
15th - 17th June
It seems an age since tour 2, the Festival of Pool, was played out and some fantastic pool was to be seen with Phil Harrison picking up his first tour title of the 2018 season with a superb 8-7 victory over Ben Flack. Flack was absolutely flying that weekend, despatching of some top players including Tour 1 winner Lee Kendal in the semi-final, but Harrison, who trailed for much of the match, was relentless at the end and proved just a fraction too much for Flack at the final hurdle. I've no doubt both players will feature in the business end of at least one of the tours before the season is out.
On to tour 3 and it all starts on Friday 15th June at the fantastic Hilton Metropole Hotel in Birmingham and entry is free for those who would like to come along to spectate. There is sure to be some top quality pool played and this is enhanced even more so by the unusual addition of a number of the World Championship players who are making the most of the close timings of the two events and have decided to head to England a little earlier and pit their wits on the tour. At least 8 players from Australia and the same from France have added their names to the list in addition to our regular contingent from Morocco. All this is sure to make for a cracking weekend and this can be seen right from the outset with some big first round draws and a second half of the draw that is loaded with some of the biggest names in pool such as Tom Cousins, Adam Davis, Lee Kendal, Joshua Kane, Phil Harrison, Ben Flack, Karl Sutton, Yannick Beaufils, Giuseppe D'Imperio and last but certainly not least, current World Champion Mick Hill! Whoever makes it through that draw deserves the title!
For those who can't make it, you can catch the stream from 9am Saturday, the link will be available on this site and our Facebook page in due course. Apologies to those who wanted to watch the action live at tour 2. Technical difficulties prevented this and all matches have since been uploaded to our YouTube page.
