UK POOL TOUR 2 - MERCURE DAVENTRY COURT HOTEL (14th - 16th April)
The 2017 season of the UK Pool Tour kicked off in spectacular style just over a month ago in Blackpool with a record number of entrants. Tom Cousins was the man to beat on that occasion, putting in a superb performance to take the title. Now it’s almost time for the second tour of the season and this time it’s off to Daventry to the fantastic Mercure Court Hotel where around 180 of the finest pool players around will compete for one of the toughest titles in the game.
The draw for the tour has now taken place and can be seen below. It makes for some interesting reading with some big draws in the early rounds, as can happen with the nature of the random draw as opposed to seeded places. A Bristol dominated section sees Harjeet Singh taking on Ben Flack with the winner facing either Shane Thompson or fellow Premier League player Alex Lewis, certainly a tough section to call! Another close game sees Wigan’s Gaz Royds taking on U23 World Champion Guisseppe D’Imperio. Both had an early departure at tour 1 and will no doubt be looking to make their mark at the second tour. An interesting first round also awaits for England Captain Lee Kendal and former World Champion Adam Davis, with the two Stoke based players on a collision course if they can win their prelim matches.
